White House Chief Medical Advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci admitted that Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdowns are just one aspect of a strategy to coerce people to get vaccinated.

The top infectious disease expert made the admission during an April 13 appearance on MSNBC. “You use lockdowns to get people vaccinated so that when you open up, you won’t have a surge of infections. [You’re] dealing with an immunologically naïve population of the virus, because [they have] not been exposed because of the lockdown,” he told the network’s Andrea Mitchell.
Fauci’s admission came in response to Mitchell’s questions about the “concerning” draconian COVID-19 lockdown in Shanghai, China. “We see the lockdown in Shanghai and [the] State Department now ordering families out, all non-essential workers out of [there],” remarked the MSNBC host.
The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) lauded China for its exercise of totalitarian power under the guise of curbing COVID-19 cases.
“The complete lockdown which was their approach [is the] strictest lockdown you’d never be able to implement in the United States. Although that prevents the spread of infection, I remember early on they were saying, and I think accurately, they were doing better than anyone else.”
In line with his ever-changing stance on pandemic-related issues, Fauci’s April 13 remarks appeared to be a complete 180 from his remarks in the BBC program “Sunday Morning.” He told the British state broadcaster in March 2022 that the full extent of damage caused by lockdowns may never be determined.
“I don’t think we’re ever going to be able to determine what the right balance is,” he said, acknowledging that lockdowns have “unintended negative consequences” such as children being unable to attend in-person classes.
Fauci’s admission tantamount to “extortion” on behalf of Big Pharma
Canadian lawyer and YouTuber David Freiheit said Fauci’s statement was an admission to the crime of extortion on behalf of Big Pharma companies. Extortion is defined as the practice of obtaining something, especially money, through force or threats. So Freiheit has a point there: Big Pharma has benefited from the fears created by lockdowns.
Meanwhile, Fauci claimed that the COVID-19 vaccines used in China “are not nearly as effective” as their Western counterparts.
“The problem is that the vaccines [China has] been using are not nearly as effective as the vaccines used in the U.S., U.K., Europe and other places. So they don’t have the degree of protection that’s optimal,” said Fauci.
“Also, they have a lot of their older population, which are the most vulnerable among us. There’s a double negative there. [First], they don’t have people who are protected. [Second], the people who need [the shots] most are not getting the vaccination. That’s the source of the problem in China.”
According to the COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker, Beijing has approved six vaccine candidates for use in the population. Four of the six candidates – including two from state-owned Sinopharm – make use of inactivated viruses to deliver the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. The vaccine candidate from CanSino Biologics uses a non-replicating viral vector, while the candidate from Anhui Zhifei Longcom uses a protein subunit.
The BNT162b2 mRNA vaccine is the only Western vaccine candidate permitted to conduct clinical trials in the country. Pfizer’s German partner BioNTech is responsible for the vaccine’s distribution in China through an exclusive agreement with Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical.
